I am so happy to be home after almost a week staying in the capital. I have been so spoiled by the weather in San Francisco, and it’s unbearable for me to stay in a humid hot environment outside in DC. Getting the matter worse, it’s almost always freezing cold inside the convention center due to the air-conditioning. Therefore, it’s a torture for me no matter where I stay, plus my irritation by the ignorance to the environment. What are they thinking when they set the temperature to so low that my have to put on a sweater inside when I can evaporate outside?
I had a hectic schedule in DC and I spent my last weekend entirely in classes. I wish I were hiking. I only went out couple nights walking around the National Mall to take a few pictures. http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/bin/slideshow.swf The moon was almost full. Very few people around the National Mall around midnight, but there are plenty mosquitoes. Luckily, I only found couple evidences that I was offered as a sushi buffet for the mosquito mob. But, it’s worth it. On the flight back to San Francisco, I was watching the Korean film "A Frozen Flower" (쌍화점) on my laptop. When the sex scene between the King and his bodyguard came to my screen, I couldn’t help but wondering my neighbors’ reaction if they were peaking on my screen. Ha ha ha… When I arrived home, I was starving to death and also extremely tired after a long flight. I decided to go to my favorite Japanese place in my neighborhood: Nara Sushi. This place has been so robust and their fish is always very fresh and delicious. I got two orders of albacore toro, which is very creamy and sweet. I should have got three of them, because when I asked one more, they were sold out. I have to get a hamachi toro instead, also exquisite. Life is good back home. I got my rice cooker back after it were sent to repair. Actually they didn’t repair it, they just give me a new one to replace the old one. That’s the kind of service I wanted when I bought the rice cooker—there is another store selling for less but I didn’t trust the other’s service. Now I need to cook more rice, and enjoy the cool weather, mountains, gym, and movies. |
