Everyday when I am on the bus coming home from work, I ask myself the same question: "What’s for dinner?" The decision is not always an easy one. Most likely I will change my mind once I stop by grocery stores in Chinatown where I change my bus. I might just pick up something completely different from what I originally planned.
Couple days ago, on my way home, I was thinking about the same thing: "What’s for dinner?" I couldn’t decide. Since it has been so cold yet dry lately that one might mistaken this is the summer of San Francisco, I thought a big bowl of hot soup with meat, tofu, and vegetables would really warm myself up. It makes sense to me. But what else should I cook to go with the soup? I didn’t think about that on the bus. Once I got home, I started to check my ammunition supply in the kitchen. I saw some cheese which I normally don’t eat except when I make pizza. Alright, I would bake a pizza in addition to the soup—the oven would make the apartment warmer as well. Then I found out that I don’t have any tomato sauce. No problem! I will just bake a pizza without the tomato sauce. Don’t tell that to an Italian though. I let the flour dough rise (of course I made the dough from scratch) while I was making the soup, then put whatever "toppings" I found in the kitchen. Fifteen minutes later, Voilà! I got a delicious pizza with a crispy crust on the bottom. It’s perfect. The soup turned out nicely too. I took a big bowl for myself. With a little bit kimchi I just bought, I got myself a dinner with all the comforting food on a chilly night. The apartment became very warm from the oven and filled with aroma from the pizza and soup. I felt so warm and content. I love to cook at home, even by myself. Cooking gives me happiness and the cozy homey feeling. Cooking reminds me that food is not just something to make me survive, but where I can blend into my love and passion. Cooking makes me who I am. What did I cook tonight? Nothing. I bought some chicken to Jason and Dodge’s Christmas party. What a fantastic time! Thanks for the gracious hosts—Jason and Dodge. After eating, drinking, and laughing, it’s time for the gift exchange and more laughing. Each person who brought a gift can pick one from the gift pool. However, if somebody decides not to pick one from the pool, he can "rob" from somebody else who already picks from the pool earlier. Each gift can be robbed maximum three times. What did I get at the gift exchange? Thanks Chi, I got a Tenga Deep Throat Cup—New Adult Concept. Made in Japan of course. I must have been pretty good during the last year to get a "gift" like this. Now I need to figure out how this thing works, if it works at all. I need to find a model. Perhaps I should put an ad on Craigslist to find a volunteer for the toy. http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/bin/slideshow.swf Just a few more days at work left. Then I will be off from work from Christmas till January 5th. It will be a very happy holiday, with my new TV and new Tenga! |
