Back from Riverside

A few months back, my co-workers put a banner on my door to ask me to pack my office for the upcoming remodeling. Of course, I didn’t do anything and leave the banner on my door for months.

Last week, I was told that I must get everything ready before Friday. But I had to leave for Riverside for most part of the week. That means I must finish packing before my trip. Running out of options, I actually started packing.

Miraculously, I finished everything by Tuesday night! My office has never been so naked!

I felt compelled to update that banner with my own drawing.

Feeling mission completed, I left on Wednesday headed to Riverside.

I can’t believe that not only Riverside doesn’t have a river, it doesn’t even have an airport! I had to fly to Ontario. No, not the one in Canada.

The hotel I stayed is supposed to be a historic landmark hotel called Mission Inn. I didn’t feel that excited about it especially after I learned that Dubya also stayed at this hotel among an extended list of guests.

I don’t like old stuff, especially when they cause cancer. However, I do like the mysterious walkways and castle alike structure. So naturally, I took most pictures inside the hotel.

My first room was on the first floor (in the British sense). I didn’t like the darkness of the room. So, I went down to the lobby and asked for a higher floor. Two floors up, I got my new room that I thought was pretty decent.

Then the second night, I heard water dripping noise. I thought it was from plants and flowers outside the window. I ignored it. The next morning, I found out that it was inside my room, water coming down from the ceiling at the window!

I am so glad that it’s not my house, and this is also why I don’t like old stuff, including old houses.

I also lost my favorite sweater in the lobby, or in the room, I don’t really know where, but definitely in the hotel. I simply cannot believe this is actually happening. I will get things returned back to me even if I lose them on streets in Japan. But I lost a sweater inside a hotel! That’s absurd.

However, all of these don’t make my trip to Riverside less enjoyable. The spa was cool, and the guy works at the desk was so gay. I had a great time sitting at a sushi bar drinking with my sushi chef, and the other people around us. It’s like a big party.

The food, music, and the atmosphere at Sevilla indeed brought out the memories while traveling in Europe.

Before I left Riverside, I had a steak at Duane’s Prime Steaks & Seafood. I feel like a redneck. Eating a steak is not my thing to do, especially with the sign on the door saying food and drink served there may cause cancer. But I was starving and I probably never get a chance to eat here again. So why not? I have to say the steak was juicy and tasty.

The holiday season is coming up, I don’t plan to go anywhere for a while. I am going to enjoy the city, the parties, and films.

Plus, my new TV will arrive soon. It’s has been shipped and on his way to my door step. Now I need to go out and shop a TV stand for it before it arrives.

Oh, yeah, time for gym to get rid of the cow I swallowed.
