What A Bizarre World

The world is tumbling. Going crazy.

The financial institutions are falling like dominoes. It’s surreal. I didn’t even dare to look at my 401(k) for months. I don’t wanna know.

I don’t understand why the tax payers should pick up the tab. I thought America is so proud of its Capitalism system. Why suddenly do tax payers need to cover up the big corporations’ asses? I don’t get it.

And I don’t get what these two guys are doing in front of the CNN camera. It’s just bizarre, and not pretty. Actually at this moment, to so many things around the world, I can only shake my heads in disbelief, helplessly.

  • A redneck shot his lawn mower because he was so frustrated that his mower wouldn’t start. Yup!
  • Children are suffering after eating bad milk. It’s all coming down to greed.
  • Palin can’t safeguard her email account’s password. And, her running mate John McCain doesn’t even how to use a computer.
  • During a commercial break of the evening news, a drug commercial is aired on TV. I can’t remember the name of the drug, but it’s advertised for shrinking prostates. And the commercial issues warning: "woman should not take" this drug… Uh? Even I am pretty ignorant about where my heart and liver are inside my body, but I do know that a man has a prostate, and a woman doesn’t. Why would any woman take this drug to shrink a prostate?
  • A 84 years old man is arrested because he has 86 wives and 107 children. Why have we never heard a woman who has many husbands?
  • Then the next commercial came up on TV. It says that John McCain fights the Republican in DC, and Sarah Palin fights the Republican in Alaska. Aren’t they Republican’s nomination?

I really need to stop reading news. Right now! There is hardly any good news.

Luckily, I still have my movies to watch. Mill Valley Film Festival is just around the corner. The San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (SFIAAFF) begins to get entries for next year’s festival, and the screening process already began.

Even when I am not at a movie, I can always step into my kitchen to escape this crazy world. Last week, I made a sushi dinner at home.

Now I am hungry…
