The Roller Coaster Ride Is Over

Ops. Almost a week went by without any update. I call it as an indicator that my life is somewhat back to normal.

It has been quite a dramatic week riding an emotional roller coaster. What matters the most is that I am extremely happy that the ride is over, and I am landed on the ground, firmly and safely. No more scare, no more anxiety, no more uncertainty, and no more waiting. I am back to where I was before I took the ride. I feel wonderful, and grateful.

It reminds me never to take what I have for granted, not that I had. I truly appreciate everything and everybody in my life.

Thursday night is a typical foggy chilly night. After warming up by some delicious Vietnamese Phở, Peter and I went to The Herbst Theatre for the performance of "Conf(USED)," presented by Youth for Asian Theater (YFAT).

I am very impressed by last year’s performance "Condensed Milk" by YFAT. Once again, I am delighted by this year’s performance as well. The terrific performance is fun, original, and sometimes touching. I will definitely go back next year.

Yow Wei just came back from his month long traveling, including to my hometown Harbin (哈尔滨). When he was eating at my dining table last night and telling me his traveling story, I started to snap pictures. I had a vision how to put them together in one frame, but I am too lazy. Plus, I hate Photoshop.

We stayed up very late. When we got up this morning, I was totally late for my ride to East Bay’s "Rod and Gunn Club of Chevron" (somehow, I have always thought it’s a "Gun" club, even no gun is allowed there). After missed another two rides, went to a wrong BART station, I miraculously got there and dived inside the warm water.

I have not been to an outdoor pool for a long time to avoid the sun. However, since last week I got a farmer’s tan on my neck, who cares anymore? I jumped into water like a fish. The pool is heated and so clear. I was so happy!

Too bad that I didn’t win any Olympics medal, perhaps because I didn’t wear a funny looking woman’s swimming suit. Actually, I am happy to be in my Speedos regardless how much those crazy suits can increase the speed.

I am still under the Olympics fever, and love those water sports.

How could I not to?
