American Idyll—GAPA Show 2008

It looks like that Obama presumably will be the Democratic presidential candidate. I feel sad for Hillary who campaigned so hard for so long, and lost so close.

However, to me, it doesn’t matter who will win between Obama and Clinton. I will vote for Ralph Nader—the only candidate who stands firmly for what he believes in. Therefore, I trust him that he will do what he promises.

This year’s National Queer Arts Festival opens with programs such as "American Idyll— The GAPA Show 2008." Although SomArts Cultural Center is not a fancy place, but last Saturday it was completely lighten up by the cheerful crowd and artists from our own community.

I am really impressed by Jordan. He wrote a play called "Malakas," and played the main character Adam who struggles with his sexuality and relationship in his troubled immigrant family. On the same night, I am absolutely enchanted by the gracious hula dance. I must learn hula dance!

At the show, I signed up with A&PI Wellness Center to do more volunteer work, like I don’t have enough on my plate.

Karsten and Ray were visiting for the weekend. Naturally, I took them to Marin Headlands on Sunday for a hike. It was windier than I would have hoped, but it gives the ocean its character. The wind creates big wave splashing on rocks constantly. Spectacular!

Yesterday, the elder couple neighbor knocked on my door. They gave me some fish the husband caught yesterday in the ocean. I am really touched by the kindness and thoughtfulness.

The warm feeling makes me want to sing even outside the shower, for example, when I am walking on the sidewalk. People might think I am crazy. I don’t care.
